YOUR CHALLENGE 

As a Data Engineer you need to love data and together with the BI team, you will be shaping how Daniel Wellington builds its data warehouse that will ultimately service everyone in our organisation, enabling us to take better decisions based on trusted data.  

To do this we’ll expect you to: 

  • Design and build data models that support complicated business processes but are agnostic from ever-changing source systems. 
  • Demonstrate an appetite to try new approaches, staying up to date with market trends and advances in data platforms. 
  • Build your brand and make the most of promoting your great work both internally and externally. 
  • Be an expert in data transformation techniques and SQL. 
  • Be comfortable in defining and building out our Data Lake. 

You will work alongside our Business Intelligence developers in building our data warehouse which acts as Daniel Wellingtons source or truth for all measures and KPIs. 

You will be expected to work cross functionally and support other departments such as Finance, Marketing, Logistics and Business Controlling to ensure our data strategy aligns across multiple business processes. 

You will be supported by your loyal team and manager in these endeavours. 

WHO YOU ARE 

  • You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience using modern database platforms and data warehouse principles all in the cloud 
  • Strong knowledge of RDBMS, APIs and file formats such as JSON, YAML, CSV
  • You understand data warehouse modelling techniques and their value 
  • You have good programming skills coupled with source control and code review experience 
  • You have worked with ELT/ETL products 
  • You’re a driven, passionate self-starter that enjoys taking the initiative to find solutions to obvious and hidden problems without being asked while have an interest in data 
  • You speak English proficiently
